Cheltenham Spa
A day in Cheltenham Spa was called for to enable me to plan for a trip I’m taking there shortly and for a talk I am preparing on Captain Scott’s Terra Nova expedition. One of the people that perished in the South Pole alongside Scott was Edward Wilson from Cheltenham where a statue of him now stands. I happened to go on the day the new 197 Class of trains were introduced on the Maesteg to Cheltenham route but my train was still one of the 40 year old 150 Class trains.
